Position Overview:
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team for a 12 month maternity leave cover to manage our day-to-day finance operations. Reporting to the COO, this role will be responsible for financial accounting, management reporting, commercial support, and compliance for our UK and US entities. It’s a highly visible, hands-on position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agency environment and is looking for rounded exposure to all aspects of the finance function in a growing global business.
This is a fully remote role within the U.K.
What You’ll Do
- Financial & Management Reporting - support the COO in delivering complete, accurate and timely financial and management information, including:
- Month-end: Own the accruals-based month-end and year-end close processes including full reconciliations of balance sheet, P&L, bank statements and posting journals across UK and US accounting systems. Prepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and consolidated reporting for group review
- Year-end: Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and statutory filing requirements including management of annual statutory audit processes.
- Compliance: Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory submissions including VAT returns, payroll reporting and annual year end filing
- External advisors: Manage relationships with local accountants, auditors, and advisors as required
- Operational Finance - oversee and manage our Finance Administrator and deliver all aspects of day-to-day operational finance, including:
- Bookkeeping: Ensuring all transactions are accounted for accurately and in line with our accounting policies
- Accounts Receivable: Ensuring invoices are raised and submitted to clients in accordance with contracts, and are paid in a timely manner
- Accounts Payable: Ensuring supplier invoices are processed, approved, and paid in line with company policy
- Payroll: Administering payroll for UK and US employees alongside the HR Manager, including coordination with external payroll providers and reconciliation of related accounts
- Expenses: Overseeing employee expense claims and reimbursements, as well as the use of company credit cards, ensuring policy compliance and correct coding of transactions
- Cashflow: Continuous monitoring of scheduled payments, cash balances and currencies
- Controls: Maintain and operate strong internal controls and support the development of scalable finance processes
- Systems: Manage the administration of our ERP systems and scheduled reports
- Commercial Finance & Business Partnering - support the wider business in delivering exceptional commercial results, including:
- Commercial Management: Support Account Management and Production teams to manage pipeline, booked revenue, estimated budgets, and work-in-progress
- Financial Planning: Collaborate with leadership on pricing, budgets, forecasts, and performance tracking, and ad-hoc reporting as required
- Insights: Provide commercial insights and recommendations to drive profitability and efficiency
About You (Who You Are)
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with 3+ years’ experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Small to Medium sized business accounting software, project management systems, and strong spreadsheet skills.
- Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with USA stakeholders.
