Job Overview:
We are a social media agency specializing in fandom, franchises, film, and TV. We bring iconic worlds to fans, shaping conversations, trends, and communities around beloved stories and characters.
As Social Lead, you will drive the agency’s most ambitious campaigns, crafting innovative strategies and defining the social approach for major entertainment franchises. You’ll inspire and develop your team, strengthen client partnerships, and set new benchmarks for what successful fandom-driven social campaigns can achieve.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Strategy & Creative Leadership
- Be responsible for developing and delivering standout, fandom-driven strategies across social campaigns for premium entertainment franchises that excite audiences and drive measurable impact.
- Serve as the senior strategic voice in pitches and major campaigns, presenting to high-profile clients and confidently guiding them through bold creative approaches.
- Anticipate platform shifts, fandom trends, and cultural moments, translating these into forward-thinking strategies that position clients as leaders in the entertainment space.
- Craft unique tones of voice for iconic brands and characters, bringing them into the modern social landscape while remaining true to their origins that fans know and love. Lead copywriting for social pages that is on brand, clever, and engaging, and infuse this skill within your team.
- Collaborate with the Production team to bring creative visions to life, ensuring all assets are delivered on time, on brand, and with the quality fans and clients expect from the worlds we represent.
- Champion creative excellence by reviewing and refining content and copy before client sign-off, ensuring everything that leaves the agency is of outstanding quality.
- Lead engaging brainstorm sessions that drive innovative social plans and proposals, turning big ideas into campaigns that resonate with fans.
- Partner with the Social Directors (US, UK) to shape strategic frameworks and implement best practices that keep the agency at the forefront of entertainment and fandom social marketing.
Team Leadership
- Help foster and maintain a positive and professional culture within the company that encourages the Social team to produce career-defining work, collaboratively with other departments and their clients.
- Encourage, by example, a positive, fun, and growth-oriented team environment.
- Show respect for all employees. Routinely motivate your team by ensuring they receive recognition for great work and opportunities for continued learning throughout their career at Think Jam.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Social Directors and all departments, including Accounts and Production, to establish staffing plans for new projects and ensure resources across the Social team are allocated effectively, allowing all team members to thrive in their role.
Training and Development
- Proactively contribute to the development of junior members of the Social team by offering and recommending tutorials, training, and key learnings.
- When applicable, conduct 1:1s, provide clear feedback, and align individual goals with agency and client objectives.
- Identify training opportunities for yourself and use them to develop your approach to social strategy and community management.
Client Management
- Work closely with clients to build trust, deliver strategic counsel, and drive meaningful fan engagement.
- Collaborate with the Accounts team to proactively address over-servicing, adjusting plans to protect the scope of work.
- Occasional in person client meetings.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience managing large-scale social media campaigns for entertainment, fandom, or franchise-focused clients or projects.
- Vast knowledge of the wider social and digital landscape, with expert understanding of all platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with discerning and converting social analytics and insights into content strategy.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing teams.
- Understanding of account management and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with clients.
- Public speaking experience; the ability to pitch social ideas to senior clients in a concise and engaging manner.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- A passion for film, TV, fandoms, and the internet culture they generate.
- A demonstrated understanding of tone of voice and the ability to adapt to fit specific audiences.
- Strong writing skills; demonstrated ability to develop copy independently that is engaging, on brand, and grammatically correct.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams, from junior to senior levels.
- Ability to foster a positive team environment while upholding agency processes.
- Exceptional communication and client relationship skills.
